Exciton entanglement in two coupled semiconductor microcrystallites

چکیده
Entanglement of the excitonic states in the system of two coupled semiconductor microcrystallites, whose sizes are much larger than the Bohr radius of exciton in bulk semiconductor but smaller than the relevant optical wavelength, is quantified in terms of the entropy of entanglement. It is observed that the nonlinear interaction between excitons increases the maximum values of the entropy of the entanglement more than that of the linear coupling model. Therefore, a system of two coupled microcrystallites can be used as a good source of entanglement with fixed exciton number. The relationship between the entropy of the entanglement and the population imbalance of two microcrystallites is numerically shown and the uppermost envelope function for them is estimated by applying the Jaynes principle. published in J. Fast, High Fidelity Quantum Dot Spin Initialization without a Strong Magnetic Field by Two-Photon Processes
Recent demonstrations of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) effects with semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) coupled to microcavities [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] show that these systems are robust and scalable platforms for quantum information science. The QD-cavity QED experiments performed so far treat each QD as a two-level quantum system consisting of a ground state and the single exciton excited state....

In this paper, we review the investigation for the light-matter interaction between surface plasmon field in metal nanoparticle (MNP) and the excitons in semiconductor quantum dots (SQDs) in hybrid SQD-MNP system under the full quantum description. The exciton-plasmon interaction gives rise to the modified decay rate and the exciton energy shift which are related to the exciton energy by using ...
متن کاملStatistics of Exciton Emission in a Semiconductor Microcavity: Detuning and Exciton-Exciton Effects
We consider the interaction of quantum light with an ideal semiconductor microcavity. We investigate photon statistics in different conditions and the presence of detuning and exciton-exciton interaction. We show that in the resonant interaction and absence of the exciton-exciton interaction, the state of the whole system can be considered as coherent state. According to our results, it turns...
متن کاملCavity-assisted fast generation of entangled photon pairs through the biexciton-exciton cascade
We present a scheme for the fast cavity-assisted generation of entangled photon pairs from a single quantum dot coupled to a planar photonic crystal that support two orthogonally polarized cavity modes. We discuss “within generation” and “across generation” of entangled photons when both the biexciton to exciton, and the exciton to ground-state transitions, are coupled through cavity modes. In ...

In this paper we give fully analytical description of the dynamics of a collection of N -Frenkel excitons in high density regime dispersively coupled to a single mode cavity field, in the presence of both exciton and cavity-field dissipations. By using excitonic operators as q-deformed bosonic operators for the system, we solve analytically the Liouville equation for the density operator at zer...
